Obtain a risk factor checklist prior to screening to document the following:

• Age
• Family history of AAA
• Family history of PVD
• Diabetes
• Hypertension
• History of smoking
• Hyperlipidemia
• Obesity

Patients with known aneurysmal disease should not participate in abdominal aortic aneurysm screening.
