  • Less than a 20 mmHg pressure gradient between bilateral brachial pressures
  • Arterial lumen diameter ≥2 mm
  • Absence of artery stenosis or occlusion
  • Patent palmar arch
  • Distal radial artery velocity PSV ≥50 cm/sec

Venous Requirements for AVF and Grafts
  • AVF – vein luminal diameter of ≥2.5 mm (with or without tourniquet) at anastomosis point
  • Dialysis graft – vein should be ≥4 mm at the anastomotic site
  • Absence of obstruction
  • Straight vein segment for cannulation
  • Vein should be within 1 cm of the skin surface
  • Continuity with proximal central veins
  • No central venous outflow obstruction
