- Less than a 20 mmHg pressure gradient between bilateral brachial pressures
- Arterial lumen diameter ≥2 mm
- Absence of artery stenosis or occlusion
- Patent palmar arch
- Distal radial artery velocity PSV ≥50 cm/sec

| Venous Requirements for AVF and Grafts |
- AVF – vein luminal diameter of ≥2.5 mm (with or without tourniquet) at anastomosis point
- Dialysis graft – vein should be ≥4 mm at the anastomotic site
- Absence of obstruction
- Straight vein segment for cannulation
- Vein should be within 1 cm of the skin surface
- Continuity with proximal central veins
- No central venous outflow obstruction
