• Measurement at end diastole, more accurate in SAX views
• Maximal WT 15 mm (or >2 standard deviation for age, gender and height) in any myocardial segment
• 1^st degree relatives of patients with HCM: WT ≥13 mm in the anterior septum or posterior wall
