Comme l'échographie n'est pas efficace pour diagnostiquer une thrombose veineuse profonde (TVP) non soupçonnée et comme il n'y a pas d'autre examen approprié de dépistage, si l'état clinique du patient ne change pas, le dépistage postopératoire de routine de la TVP, après une arthroplastie de la hanche ou du genou, ne change ni les résultats ni la prise en charge clinique.
