Recommendation 7: We recommend that most patients should have their blood pressures controlled to < 140/90 mmHg; those with diabetes or at high risk for cardiovascular events should be treated to a systolic blood pressure of less than 130 mmHg to reduce the risk of developing heart failure (Strong Recommendation, Moderate Quality Evidence).

Recommendation 8: We recommend that beta-blockers should be considered in all asymptomatic patients with an LVEF lower than 40% (Strong Recommendation, Moderate Quality Evidence).
