This guideline uses the following terms:

• HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF): LVEF ≥ 50%;
• HF with a mid-range ejection fraction (HFmEF): LVEF 41-49%;
• HF with a reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF): LVEF ≤ 40%.
